Alright, parts have been sorted thru, calls being made to see if the computer will work with this trans. ( comp is from a 4.8 liter with manual, my trans is auto) and looking for the best deal on an sye.

Old trans and t-case will be out this week and should be the start of some steps in the right direction. t-case is sold, if anyone needs the guts from the tranny tho, welcome to it. The case is cracked.

Computer should work, but it will need a different calibration with all of the auto trans interfaces correctly calibrated. The person you find to give you a tune should be able to do this if they're worth their salt.

Pretty sure it's just a setting (like 1 for auto, 2 for manual), calibrations are already in there for either way. I would need to open my tuner up to know for sure.

Whoever does your tune won't have an issue with it, and the 4.8/5.3/6.0computers are interchangable. If there are slight differences (fuel mapping, etc.) they won't matter. I have used both a 4.8 and a 5.3 computer with no noticable difference. You will end up taking it for a dynotune anyway and anything that might be different will get adjusted properly...

For what its worth, current pricing from Jim's Performance on that stuff is $350 to do the harness as a pared down/stand alone, and $200 for the tuning/tailoring to your system.

my harness and ECU went out last week.

That's a decent price for the harness, what are you getting for $200 on the tune?

Jim's will be doing mine as well, Kevin talked to him for about an hour today. Have to get a different wiring harness, the one i have was for a 5 speed so the wires aren't even there for an auto, altho Jim says he may have one laying around. $450 to flash computer and do the harness.

What are you saying Tim???? I'm so gentle on my heep. It has the 1310 in it now.....didn't go clickity, clickity , boom.

I know, bigger motor, more power, more stuff will break...I hear ya. Trying to stay within a kinda tight budget....if I go with 1350 I will need to buy a new shaft. $$$ is gettin kinda tight round these parts

Yes, I was referring to the difference in power between the I6 and the 6.0, not your manicured, almost delicate driving style. I hear ya' on the cash front.

If pinion angles are setup correctly the 1310 will hold up just keep an eye on them

I had to replace them about twice per year with the V8 in my rig.
