code scanner

My dad wants a code scanner for christmas. Anyone have any advice on what one to get? Price range = $150 - $250. OBD I - II

obd II for generic scanners, the actron brand is decent. can be found at murrays and I think autozone

a tech at my work bought a ScanCheck i think he paid $299 a year ago its made by snapon probably cheaper now. Its works realy good for the price compared to the $5000 one the other tech has.
