Let there be light

Still gotta hook up trailer brakes, reverse lights and site markers. Running off a flat 4 right now, easy to splice in a 7 way

Got a little bit of work done on the fenders today. remember they are drive over.... this trailer is def gonna be fora 4 wheel drive vehicle, I don't think a car would fair to well going over these bad boys.

Getting the fenders tacked up

This is roughly what they are going to look like when they are mounted. Gotta get them to mate with the existing structure...should be fun.

And got the chance to finish the rough edges a little bit before the shop i use closed.

Thats where it stands right now, nest chance to work on it will be Wed...hope to get the fenders done and the ramps fabed up.

Got a little bit more work done on the Trailer.

Got the fenders welded on

Cut up the old gate to make some ramps. Put on some angle with gussets to hold ramps to trailer while loading.

Just gotta wire the brakes up, back up lights, tie down points and put a new tounge on it. should be done this weekend.

Got a little bit more work done on the trailer.

Got the tie downs bolted on. I bolted them throught the diamond on the deck, but i made sure that the bolts were about a inch away from a weld holding the diamond on...should be plenty stong

And i got the rest of the side marker/blinkers on and hooked up, as well as the back up lights hooked up. If you can't see me your just plain blind, i have a ridiculous amount of light on this trailer. The LED's are awesome.

All i have left to do is weld on a new tounge, screw around with the trailer brakes and paint it. The trailer brakes work, the back ones just need to be redone i think. The front axle locks up good with the panic button, the rear axle just slows the tires down a little.

Did a test tow on the trailer today. Towed pretty good. Drive over fenders worked as they should.

Nice! Except for the bolt through tie downs. How thick is that diomand plate it's bolted to? You have to imagine if they will hold during some high shock loads such as a car crash...

I agree. Those tie downs look scary. Rest of the trailer looks awesome though.

do your self a favor and weld some sort of protection over the lights. Im always geting lights knocked off by logs, chains, ramps, people stepping on them...etc. As for the tie downs, how come you dont use the stake pockets?

if you get the tie down bolted into some structure rather than just the diamond plate it will be plenty strong. use grade 8 bolts for more strength.

on second thought make sure that those tie downs are rated for a great deal of strength. they do not look to have the thickest mounting brackets. You need those to hold when you hit a tree going 50 or your air bag will save you just before your jeep kills you.

Looks pretty nice, and looks like you got plenty of room up front for some spares, and a tool box and the likes

FYI - POR15 is awesome, except when exposed to UV rays. I'm sure you know this, but just in case you didn't...

Nice build. I *especially* like the back-up lights!
