I use the Lisle kit. Just did a V10, 9 out of 10 broke. I have never had to pull a head yet.

I had the great pleasure to tune-up my first 5.4 3v today. 2005 Lincoln Navigator 115k and had never had the plugs out yet. First two came out with some back and forth action, and a good shot of seafoam. Then the next four all broke.
Cly's 3 4 5 7 all left the tip and porcelain in the head. The shop bought the Lisle tool, so I started pushing the porcelain down into the tips. When I threaded to extractor tool into the tip and pulled out it stripped the holding threads.
After getting a replacment puller all four tips came out in about 2hrs. The worst part about the job is laying over the front grill and standing on a milk crate. Once I figured out how far to thread the puller it all went very smooth

The extractor tool is a wear item.
Seems to last 8 to 10 plug removals on the Lisle kit.
