Default Re: Tj/Xj/Yj D30 w/D44 Knuckles

This is good information; particularly regarding the axle width. In fact, with the slight increase of your hybrid D30 above the OE Xj D30 it makes me wonder if it is possible to cut off some of the inner spline to get the desired inner shaft length. I realize this may be a naive or even dumb question but I had to ask...it has been two years since I had my Xj HP D30 apart so those images are long gone from my memory. I will check Billavista's article regarding the custom length inner shafts.

Are you able to break down the vehicle models, model years and components I would need to make a complete HP D30 for my Xj's? Forgive the question but I have no idea. The Cj D30 housing is fairly easy to understand but I would rather ask and know before I begin buying hardware. I need a little more specific information that what you provided to know what vehicles/model years/axles to pursue.

I found this after posting my reply:

What did the final WMS to WMS of this axle end up being?

And I can't recall right now what the WMS to WMS of a stock XJ D30 is?

Default D30/D44 Hybrid Axle

I am curious why the front Scout D44 is not mentioned as a potential solution for the outer C's, shafts, etc. Any particular reason?

Availability, compatibility, and poor steering knuckle geometry. They are the turds of the D44 world.

Default How to: Tj/Xj/Yj 30 with 44 knuckles

Waggy 44 and be done with it
No added width all the strengths
Bolt pattern change is the only con
If you are go through all this work just build a hp 44 to wagoneer or eb width and use stock length shafts
