Default 7.3 block heater

Can i leave my 7.3 plugged in when not in use. even if only driven once a week and plugged in the rest of the time

yea u can leave it plugged in all the time but they draw a lot of power. I have mine set on a timer to go on 4 hours before i have to leave

It will wear the block heater out prematurely as well. It only needs about four hours to heat up enough. Just anticipate when you are going to drive it then plug it in then.

The recommendation is not more than 4 to 5 hours of plug in time for heater element life. I use timers set for 4 hours on both of mine but keep my glowplug system in tip top shape for when I can't do that.
