As well, I am pretty sure that the '97 and '98 transmissions are the same. They are both AW4 ( aisin warner 4 speeds, which have actually been in jeeps since the late 80's) and I do believe share the same hookups.

incorrect...the 98 tranny will work in a 97 but you have to change one of the plugs and use the 98 TCM. the 97 will work in a 98 BUT the check engine light will always be on bc the 98 has an extra speed sensor in it. 97 was a 1 year only tranny and TCM. I dealt with this on my Jeep

im currently using a 98 tranny and TCM in my 97 flawlessly with no codes just change 1 of the 2 plugs...which i actually just cut the plug off the 97 tranny and the plug off the 98 body and wired them together to make an adapter plug so that i wouldnt have to cut the harness on the good tranny or on my Jeep

Make me an offer :D There is a small list of parts prices on the first post, but its all OBO, and if someone got super motivated, they could take the whole jeep home for 1500 bucks (firm) I have to either get this gone as a whole or piece by piece, and if it comes down to it, ill torch it into small pieces and makes jeep mantle pieces *chuckle*
