a marked snowmobile trail is only for sleds if i remember right. a mixed traffic trail or seasonal road like in st helen, then it is legal for a truck. get cought in the u.p on a sled trail with a truck and you will not have a good day.many trails go through private land, only open to snowmobiles.
jim or jim whats the rule on this?

erin you are right, I just didnt like his tone with his comment...I ride around st helens, houghton lk area and most of those are ORV routes and i run into people in trucks/cars/jeeps all the time, but they can be there...I havent been to the UP for snowmowheeling in years, I had a planned trip last year but the snow melted

I'd hate to get caught on one that's not a marked ORV route... It ruins the trail for the entire season, sledders HATE it. I wouldn't be surprised to see a truck get a driveby door kick for being on an unmarked trail, just saying

and i wouldnt be surprised to see somebody get their ass kicked when they do said drive by door kick....and I highly doubt a truck driving down the trail ruins it for the season...its the assholes that dont exercise throttle control that destroy trails, but thats what the groomers are for

Why would a large slow moving vehicle kill somebody? are you saying people ride too fast and cant control their sleds?

Its all about how you talk to them. I bought my last Assault from Spicers and they were within 50-100 of all the down state dealers. I was not pleased with their service though. Not even looking at Spicers this time.

Do you know how wide many of the trails are? There was a Jeep stuck last year in the UP on a trail that was about 10-12' wide. Many riders were lucky that he stuffed it into the swamp. Most sleds are 46-47" wide. Vehicles are all over the trail when they run them.

So me going around a corner on my side at a reasonable speed and hitting the asshole in the Jeep is my fault? There are enough retarded riders out there that can't stay on their side as it is. You are just another reason I try to avoid trails unless I need fuel.

And Lauriat you are right, Spicers has the worst service of any dealer I've been to. I've never had a good experience there. In 08 they also stripped out a few bolts in the rear suspension doing a service update on a friends brand new 08 600rs and claimed it wasn't them. I dont know how they are with their boat services but I'd never take a sled there...

I told them once the sled gets in to give me a call and I will come and pick it up. By the looks of my tunnel they were out joy riding my sled. They also tried to charge me for new shocks on my Assault. They ended up costing me my last ride of the season because they wouldn't call Polaris. They would only use the email service they offer. They also told me that my claim was denied. I made some calls and found out that they never even turned the claim in. They were rather pissed when I called them out on that.

I love Deer Park! The only issue is gas. It sure cuts down on the fun time. If I remember right, it's about 30-35 miles for the closest fuel. The ride in and out consumes 3/4 of a tank. It's easy to get turned around in there too.

we have a big mixture of different sleds.you can make a 121 stocker go a long way with some riding skills. getting stuck is half the fun of it anyway. i have a 120" 800 xp for playing a 2005 600 renegade for a spare sled. my boondocker is a 154" 800 xp i built, with a 2.5 camo xtreme track, fox floats, usi skis, ice age rails, pro taper bars, geared down, rooster built clutch and some other cool stuff.that is my baby now.
