I was pretty set on Yamahas just because growing up my friends seemed to have had those bikes. They were old and crappy but ran real well. I'm trying to find a mid-90s Yamaha 4-stroke 250. I have no idea what to look for or what the names mean - 250, 250f, etc. This bike will probably only see desert, as that is the only real type of terrain to go on around here, unless I want to hit up the rocks which seems like it would hurt.

Honda 250 Elsinore

Quite possibly the best bike ever built by anyone anywhere.

If it still has the lights, it will be street legal, will take an absolutely astounding amount of punishment, and doesn't even care if you never change the oil. There should be a bazillion of these things in you area.

This is a link to an article about my 1956 Panhead. It was featured in Hot Bike magazine. I was also lucky enough to author the article.

that springer front fork is WAY better than that super long chopper fork. Good job + Cool bike history.

I had a 76 CR125M Elsinore and that thing introduced me to "Two Stroke Powerbands", LOL. ( I was cleaning the air filter one day and found it in the airbox; it was green)

I saw it, but even though it is an air cooled engine, it wasn't really designed for low speed off road use. I wonder how well it will hold up.

Who is still riding? I have been when I have time, but I know a lot of people that parked them already.

I took the insurance off mine last week, This week made me wish I hadn't...

I am taking the dirtbike to my folk's house this weekend to play out in the woods. Hopefully there aren't any bowhunters out there on Sunday.

I might try to take it off mine, the last time I tried with a bike they wouldn't let me saying that bikes are done by the year no matter what because if you get a nice day late you may want to ride it.

I have a different carrier now though.

Here is the latest picture of mine:

I added:
Saddle bags and supports
forward controls
Dyna Shocks
front bag
Pillow seat
new rear tire

Currently looking for some slip on pipes, and I need to get a "Easy Bracket" license plate mount and turn signal relocation bracket. Next season I will need a front tire too... I did about 1300-1400 miles since August 30th
