Default Kinda new guy--Bay City

Hey,

I was registered for a long time. I don't think I've ever posted or posted in like 2-3 years..so it feels. HAHAH 3/18/09 I joined lol...

Anyways, I am a Dodge guy. I sold a project truck for a down payment on my house:

http://ramchargercentral.com/rcs-tds...37;2891108%29/

I drive a 1999 Ram 1500. It's a 4x4, 360, auto, standard cab, short box, cowl hood, black with no badges, 3" single aerochamber, 305 wrangler kevlars and 57,XXX on the clock (bought it with 25 two years ago).

I have a cousin on here but he's a Chevy guy...so it's like the Hatfield and McCoys when we discuss rigs.

Looking to stay around and looking to purchase the below, thoughts?

1994 Dodge Dakota
318, 4x4, Auto, 170,XXX
$800

The GOOD--
-4x4 works, it ran and drove when parked (more vehicles to drive rather then fix)
-Comes with a 94' 2wd parts truck (they own a 92 Dakota 318 4x4 too)
-Now a whole bunch of rust (one rocker needs to be cut out)
-Glass is good
-Everything seems to work

The BAD
-Needs new head gaskets
-Antifreeze is leaking out off the edge, drivable
-Needs the tune up, been sitting for a couple of months before it's sat.

Whatca think? I want to use to get to work instead of putting the miles on my rig.

That is sure cheap enough but it sounds like it would take a lot of work to make it reliable enough to rely on it for a commuter. You may want to put some coil overs on it for our roads though

Well I figured I would take my time over the winter getting the parts off the truck I would need. They scrap the rest. I am sure I could make some of the money back on it. I figured I would do the obvious maintenance (plans: fuel filter, air filter, two oil changes, drain the radiator, tranny, transfer case, new spark plugs, leads) then put the fenders on and cut the rot out (use the donor truck to replace :)). I think I could get there but I won't touch it if I don't trust it getting me home (Midland to BC). The parts truck ould be towed.

I don't think I could do terribly bad on it. As long as the block isn't cracker or the heads.
