I am equally fearful of what both sides are capable of. But to me itís more about using logic and reason to decide what is best for this country, rather than making decisions based on fear.

The aerial photo CC posted of the Beck rally doesn't look anywhere near as densely packed as what I saw on the ground Saturday. It was literally wall-to-wall people for about 4 or 5 blocks in every direction from the mall and just downright busy for a few blocks beyond that.

The Metro also set a record for ridership on a Saturday with an estimated 850,000 trips (an average Saturday has about 250,000). I haven't seen what the ridership was for the day of the Beck rally though.
People that went to Colberts Rally =Young people, Nerdy College students, Hippies, etc - Rely on the public transportation system.

People that went to becks rally = Old, Wealthy, people who think Public Transit is 'below' them. Those numbers do not surprise me.

Everybody in the DC area relies on the Metro. There is nowhere to park within a comfortable walking distance for those old folks that went to the Beck rally. Their Rascal scooters can only get them so far before the battery is drained!

Actually, the crowd at the Colbert/Stewart rally was a bit older than I expected (but yes, I imagine the crowd at the Beck Rally was MUCH older).
