Default Cold start problem??

Have a 1986 Toyota truck 4x4 2.4 EFI...that's had a cold start problem. My friend changed the cold start injector time switch to the updated oem part # 89462-20050,and it still took 5-7 cranks before starting.so we decided to by pass the time switch with a toggle in the dash going to the starter to ground and then the CSI injector..a little improvement..takes 2-3 cranks to start now. This is only a problem after being parked all night/or sitting for 5-6 hours..all other times it starts/runs/idles great.Any suggestions? thanks.

try checking your fuel pressure, EFI systems require a certain psi to operate properly. another thing could be the fuel pump is not holding pressure and overnight the pressure bleeds down, so when you go to start you dont have any fuel pressure until it can build up enough pressure to start which is the 2-3 cranks, find the spec for the fuel pressure, let it sit overnight and check it in the morning and when it starts check it, I have had a few cold start issues at work that turn out to be a fuel pump, hope this can help you, good luck

Default cold start

My fuel pump was leaking down, try turning the key on a couple times before starting. If it starts right up then injectors, cold start injector or your fuel pump is probably not holding pressure.

Tried that a few different days and it didn't help....on another note..the temp sensor switch next to the CSI time switch has no copper washer on it..would that/and or the sensor being bad have an effect on the cold start?
