Default Heading to R&V for the first time today (10/30) *NOW WITH PICS*

My daughters & I will be up there today (arriving at 11:00 a.m.) in a silver '05 Jeep LJ. If you happen to see us, say "hi" and introduce yourselves. It'll be our first time to the park, so we're excited about checking it out.

Craig

Have fun - you will love the park!

We are headed up to St. Helen to check out the new rock course.

What a GREAT time! My daughters & I fell in love with the trails there. We met up with Crawler (Steve) and his wife, and they were nice enough to show us around the trails, and also to snap a few pics of us. For those who haven't been there, the photos don't do the park justice.

We also ran into a couple guys from the board...irishjeeper & noah's ark. It was nice to meet them. I also got to meet Ron Price, and thanked him for developing such great trails. We'll definitely be back! The camera battery died before I could get a photo of my girls in front of the "Rocks and Valleys" sign on the way out of the park, though.

With a basically stock rig (only a budget boost & 31" KM2s), I was very pleased with how my LJ did. I love the tires! I'll disconnect the sway bar next time (I don't have quick disconnects), though. The gears are also turning on ways to make it more offroad-capable. My trailer hitch hangs a little low, so I want to plan on a rear bumper with integrated hitch...maybe a winter project.

Craig

Here's us in the LJ.

Note the scratch that goes the full length of the driver door (and into the quarter panel). I'll have to see if it'll buff out. It's the only real "carnage" (used very loosely) from the day.

No, we didn't actually tackle the tires & boulders!

Driving out of The Playground:

Crawler taking advantage of the landscape to display how much more flexy his rig is than mine. BTW, I'm SOOOOO disconnecting my sway bar the next time I go to R&V.

I saw you guys out there too, I think my daughter played with yours when we got there. I was there in the green Ranger. Looks like a fun time, great pictures! It is a great park that you can spend all day playin in. I had a good one too, just my daughter hated the trails (first time going with me) then I blew a locking hub then decided to go home. Here are a couple of my pics

Was a good time though, only added one or 2 new dents Shoulda ran around with you guys a little, we will have to meet up again!

Sorry to hijac your thread with my pictures....

Yeah, it was fun Chad. Get that Jeep running already! I'll have to look back at your build thread...I can't remember where you are in the fixing process (accident, right?).

Kyle - Sorry I didn't say "hi". I saw you talking with Steve, but I was busy airing down and trying to be quick, as I didn't want my daughter's short attention spans impacting getting on the trails as soon as possible. Maeve (my youngest) especially was happy to meet a new friend before trail riding. Nice-looking rig, BTW!

We had a great time too. It's always a good day when you can wheel a day, and still drive it home.

Kyle, it was nice to meet you and your daughter.

Ron, I'll look forward to the trails you always seem to mix it up just right.

Good stuff Craig. Check out the winter wheeling thread we're working on on the Scrambler site. Might work in something like this with snow.
