Well I found out when getting ready to swap out my broken ring and pinion that both spindles on the 14 are bent. The long side left some nice marks in the 300M shaft.

So new axle is getting ready. Once again it is a shaved housing and this time I am using a fully boxed truss design.

and id change the shock mount. run the truss all the way to the backing plate of the spindle. mount shock brackets to truss. if your going to truss it go all the way to the ends. mine looks alot like yours and i wish i had ran the truss all the way out.

Bump pads have been changed just this was the cad model that I took pictures off.

And the shock mounts bottom out at the brake caliper mount and then there is just 1" from the edge.

And Brian, the stuff is getting cut and should have it friday.. That way I can knock it out this weekend. Wanna help.. Lol

Now I was working on the gear pattern tonight. Some questions;

-I can get the drive side of the gear to be pretty damn close but the coast side is a little "inward" to the inside of the gear from center.
So do I run it or keep trying to get it perfect..

Inward toward the root? If its just toward the heal then run it if the drive side is good. The coast side isn't nearly as critical.

Are those the parts you told me about that you sold to a "real" wheeler instead?

No they are closer to the heel. I am thinking about trying somemore tonight to get it good on both sides.

just keep in mind that its not always possible to get both sides perfect. So if you must choose which side stays perfect then pick the drive side.

instead of the holes cut in the plates, maybe you should spell out something for him instead like "PINKY"....

An update for my build is that I bought a new trailer to haul the darn thing all around..
I wanted to build one but without a large enough spot to build it I rather just buy it.

http://www.pjtrailers.com/detail.cfm?ID=B5

PJ Buggy hauler, new;
-5200# tandem axles w/ brakes
-20' long
all the other bells and whisles.

Hopefully I get it before Windrock in 4 weeks.... EKKKKK!
