Default has anyone ever flat towed a m1008?

i have been volunteered by my brother to help him pull his newly bought m1008 back from Wisconsin. I see the giant d ring brackets on the front of the truck and would think that you could flat tow from those points.

the medium military tow bars seem like overkill being that they are rated for 83,000lbs and are more than we were hoping to spend seeing that he will only use it once.

any one have any useful suggestions?

I'm confused. Are you proposing to fab up a towbar to the D-Ring brackets, or flat tow via a strap, an old military vehicle from Wisconsin all the way to kalamazoo?@!!

ryebread i am concerned that you would think that, but after re-reading it i see it. no, I won't be towing it with a strap.

I have been on the wrong end of that deal before. Driving it would be a last resort.

I have towed them before. I have a medium duty and it is overkill for the CUCVs. If you ever find a light duty one please let me know. I would like to buy one.

this towbar happens to be one I had fabbed up

towbars have other uses too
this is a medium duty towbar
