Time for an update.

Added a new winch.

In the process of installing new corner guards. Sorry for the blurry pic.

And this is self explanatory.

How come the best deliveries are of the big, shiny, aluminum kind? The day I got my Atlas was one the best! Hopefully I get my 4 boxes of big, shiny, aluminum yet this week.

Your tires are looking pretty toasted! You're either wheeling a lot or iroks wear out fast...

Nice to see the upgrades!

Looks like a 2spd with 3.8 gears and 23 spline based on the marker on the case.

Congrats Jim, it's worth it.

Brian,
Johnny pretty much summed it up. I intended to do the 4 spd but they discontinued them early this spring after some failures at KOH in Feb. The prediction of when they come back out, how well they will work and what the backlog waiting time would be drove me to go ahead with the 2 spd. I've had to rebuild my transfer case a couple times in the past year. The first time was a stretched chain and the second was a realization that all of the internals (bearings and planetary) needed replacing. After all that, I still ended up breaking a front 1310 output yoke on my last outing. (an upgrade to 1350 isn't practical on a 27 spline)

BTW, thanks to Dale @ Ironman for the corner guards.

Looks like you have a few weekends of work ahead..! Getting the atlas was deffinitly a good move. I have been happy with mine (until the little e-clip popped off at harlan.)

If I remember correctly your wheeling in a few weeks. Better get going..!

Two questions for you:

Are those Irok's really that torn up after one year?

Why the hell don't you get rid of those fenders?

The jeep wont fit any bigger than a 40" tire. That's what it was designed for and that's what it fits, just barely. If he's going to put any larger of a tire on it then it needs a big rework including ditching the mechanical link steering.

I think the tire he has in mind will do just fine against anything else out there.

38.5" t-birds!

I'll let jim say or not say what his plans are, it's not my place to speak on his behalf. And besides, it's fun to see what people think the "best" tire is.
