Default Rick or Virg?

Now that we're down to 2, discuss.........

I listened to both of them on WJR this morning. Virg was all about agressively attacking Rick. He had that pissed at the world attitude. On the other hand, Rick was calmly talking about the future and not worrying about the other guy. His approach was to not worry about short term solutions and focus on the long term future of the state.

But does Rick have what it takes to deal with antagonisitic opposition?

There isn't a chance in hell a crybaby democratic mayor from lansing who is in bed with the unions will be voted in as governor. Unions are dead, and nobody wants to elect somebody who puts all the blame for this state on "WALL STREET AND WASHINGTON" when the problem is here, with small business taxes and the like.

I think it will come down to Snyder's voting base. It would be nice to see how many "crossover" votes he pulled from the independents and the democrat-s. 1.1 million republican-s voted yesterday, over twice the number of democrat-s. Does this mean that pissed off republican-s were out in mass yesterday, or does that mean that 25% of the democrat-s have seen the light?

Virg is a complete sleazeball. He makes slimy used car salesmen look like saints. He can't run his own damn city. What makes him think he can run an entire state??? There is no way he will be able to come close to raising enough funds to compete with Rick. I'm just amazed that there were that many stupid people in this state that voted for this dipshit. Virg sucks.

Hopefully Rick will have a lot of new faces in Lansing after this November's election that will be willing to work with him and advance his agenda.

Wow, I just heard that whiney ass lansing mayor talk, and every single thing he said was about how the people of michigan are being screwed by big business in washington, and the other part of the interview was him ripping on Snyder.

I'm pretty sure the dem party used him as a sacrificial lamb just to make him go away.

I don't know if I can trust anyone from Ann Arbor.

Women will vote for Virg.

I'm not up on my info about Snyder or Bernero but I know I didn't want to see Bouchard get the nomination. Him and his partner Terry Lynn Land seem to have the same outlook at Jenny "Granny" Granholm - not good.

He really is not a Good mayor. It's kind of funny in Lansing during the last election they had signs that said "Anybody but Virg". At the time I felt bad for him, I no longer do. I can say that I think he is totally the Sacrificial lamb this time around.

Also, Snyder not doing a Smear campaign, or maybe as aggressive as some just proves, In my mind at least, that he's a good choice. He's not about games, he's about getting things done. I'm curious if other people are going to try to dig up dirt on him and find out he might not have any. If he lives with the Integrity he claims at least.

Snyder was not my choice but he will do a good job if elected and hope he continues to have enought class as to not start with slinging mud as the other guy is doing right out of the gate.
As liberals do it, they say enough lies and people tend to believe em.

Virg is nothing but a clueless waste, owned by the unions. I honestly dont know alot about Snyder, but what I have seen makes me think he will do a decent job.
I do like that he is not running a smear campaign and does seem to be looking for long term solutions.

I am a long way from being decided on who I will vote for but I've met Virg a few times at small intimate events and large impersonal gatherings as well and he is always just as hyper and loud and "on" as he is in those angry mayor clips on YouTube and on the radio and stuff. He seems like the type of guy that goes through about 12 cans of Red Bull before lunch.

I like that it seems like Snyder is going to try to keep it clean and avoid the mud slinging and dirt but I worry that Virg will just eat him alive in debates. But debates are good for nothing but entertainment value anyway so I don't think that will make much of a difference on way or another.

Either way, I think this will be a very interesting election.

I kept laughing during his acceptance speech. He was ripping on the fat cats of wall street, corporate raiders, etc and how he was going to change all of it and save Michigan. Isn't the governor currently a Democrat? In 8 years of a Democrat in office, shouldn't all that change be done by now?

I agree though. I think he was put up as the sacrifice for the party this year knowing that they are going to get creamed. Why waste the career of someone that might realistically win 4 or 8 years from now?

I've met him a few times here in Lansing at some events. He is just as much a sleazeball in person as he is on TV. We were in one of the suites at a Lugnuts game next to the City of Lansing's suite. We passed him in the hall and his eyes were absolutely glued to my wife's chest. I'm normally clueless when guys do that, but even I noticed him staring.

I think it would be great if Virg tries to be loud and Aggressive to Snyder and all Snyder does is calmly answer questions. That would be amazing. However, I am worried that he's not a politician and he could get hammered on the issues.
