Default coolig problem

i have a 94 silverado with the throttle body 350. i recently put a new thermostat and water pump on. now the cooling system is not working. i can drive it for 10 minutes n take the radiator cap off and the coolant is just sitting there. its not building pressure or flowing. and my temp gauge just barely goes above 100 and it doesnt overheat. i dont get it.

Sounds like a bad T-stat. An Autozone special?

what kind of water pump did you put in? if you tried putting an older pump on a newer motor it won't work due to rotational differences. older ones are standard rotation where newer ones are reverse rotation.

What ever your issue maybe, a 160* is too cool of a t-stat to allow the engine to run in closed loop mapping

start from the begining.
1. 195* T stat mandatory on a stock engine.
2. water pump is a reverse rotation (no bolt holes for alternator.)
3. Coolant is set to -30* with tester

I would ask if you have done these things you may have other issues. WHY did you replace the T stat & pump? secondly is the system full of air? if so then remove the sensor on the intake next to the T stat housing. if it pushes out a bunch of air then re tighten it and then let run to see if it opens.
