No insecurity, we just like big dumb toys that do crazy things.

I love how people see cool stuff and just bitch about it. It was fun, no one was hurt, and the only issues were existing weak links that would've been fixed from the start if the funds were available. Parts breakage is nature's way of telling you it's time to upgrade.

Cool is debatable, jumping a 6000lb+ truck without a cage is stupid, hence the no brains comment. Remember how cool it was when you're attending the funeral, I'm sure that will comfort the family.

To a point I agree, a cage is ALWAYS a good idea for that kinda stuff...but he also started off gradual with less than 6 of air and worked his way up to the big launch. Not like he just saw a lip at the top of a hill and pinned it to see what would happen.

what axles come stock on the dodges?

u think what has been done to the truck is really pushing the trucks suspension to the limit or has it not even came close to its limit?

The axles are AAM 9.25 front and AAM 11.5 rear. Stock axles are strong but the tubes are not as thick as a dana.

As far as the suspension goes might have pushed it a little but have never gotten shock fade or even rebound after that jump. With the reworked suspension that we are doing I should not be able to come close to its limits at silver lake!

did the truss fail or was it just from all the hard landings that the tubes started tearing?

I believe it was only trussed between the Spring mounts. This caused it to bend between the knuckle and spring mount (Difficult area to truss?)

ok yea its only the driver side tube tearin out of the diff, yea i think makin a truss that goes outside the springs would mean the truss is on the bottom of the axle?

It had gussets on the knuckles and like you said, a truss between the spring mounts. More would've been nice but we didn't expect it to see that kinda impact. More was planned when the money came along for coilovers and stuff, now it's a requirement instead

Both tubes are bent and the driverside is tearing out of the diff. There are a few ways a full truss could've been done, but not in the time we originally had to work with. The HP60 is getting some pretty intense trussing, pics will be up soon. I'm also throwing a truss on the AAM 9.25 on my DD/tow rig/dune toy in the next week or so cuz I'm redoing my front suspension too so I'll post pics of that also.
