Default 03 crf 450

well just picked up an 03 crf450 on saturday and took to silver lake on sunday. i had ver riden a 4 stroke bike befor. mostly only 125 2 stroke and i have rode a 2250 2 stroke twice. i do know my way around on a bike and i am a big guy at 6'2" and 218lbs. but this bike is fast! dead even with my friends 02 cr250. it took my a while on the dunes to get used to it. it really was the first time i rode that bike and the first time i rode a bike on the sand. i love it. it went every where. just wondering if any one else rides one? and what they think of it?

I took my 03 up there a few times. Toss a paddle on the back and it gets even better. I sold it a few years ago, but it was a good bike.

not a bad looking bike, i love the honda 450s. but if it were me i would tightn that chain up unless you like buying expensive cases. that chain is way to loose and it will break with all the wear and tear and send the chain through the case when it snaps. it happens more then you would think. ive done it before. very pricey

o i know. it will be fixed shorly. with me on it is not as badly lose. but still not good. it is actully the only thing that needs fixed on the bike. the adjuster bolt is broke off. so i got to get it fixed. and yes i cant want to try it with paddel tire but still need a little more parctice on the dunes.

Ive had my 04 5 years now without any trouble. keep an eye on your air filter after you go to the dunes. the cleaner you keep it the longer your top end will last.

I used to have a crf450, loved it when it was runnin', hated it when it blowed up (3 times, and I'll take the blame for 2 of them).

Honda 450+paddle tire+dunes=Huge fun!!

Its a blast. However I usually find myself there not on the weekends or holidays.

I don't disagree about it being fun - it's just teh fact you have to watch your ass 360 degrees...

It only takes one retard landing his BDST on you to ruin your day.

a paddle tire will make it easier to ride the dunes, not just allow you to go faster. any way. its a blast. maybe ill see you there some time

I've got an 03 that I bought new and still have it. I didn't like it at first. took it to the dunes for the 1st ride. Until I got to know how to ride it (totally differant then 2 strokes) it was'nt so much fun. But, after a bit I got the hang of the lower rpm's and the front end came up..... I have a 12 scoop paddle and it runs awesome! The best bike I've ever had. awesome trail bike to....

Stop telling lies buddy, we all know you bought the bike to look at it and not ride it.
