Default info on Jefferson Swap meet this weekend (WI)

Been a couple years for me - has it changed much?

Prior we would use a wagon with a cooler for beverages.

The web site appears to be more strict than in the past with rules and prohibited items - anyone been there last year and have any problems? Any major changes I'll need to watch out for.

Also - anyone else going?
I am planning on towing my snowmobile trailer over " just in case"

I've been going there for almost 15 years, every year. (I live about a mile from the fairgrounds...) You ain't bringing anything thing in as far as a cooler or beverages... Although, some people with little kids have been able to sneak them in later on in the day-BUT, they also have a small child in the wagon also. So you might be best dragging a desingated toddler so's you can consume. I haven't seen any alcohol there in years, but I'm sure the vendors have plenty when the gates close at night.

Plenty of people show up with trailers "just in case". You wouldbe far from alone on that!

I will be there, but I'm nothing special, just another spectator.

Yeah! Ain't that the truth! EVERY year it rains! Sunshine all week, rain on fri and sat. Wear boots you don't mind hosing out as I'm sure the mud will be sloppy and the parking will be slick.

I have been going since 94 - as a vendor - took last 2 years off - and this year going as a spectator.

-no coolers at the gate huh? that blows a big hole in my plan...
I guess being a vendor did have a big advantage - we would load the cooler on the wagon and head out from "home base" - tipping rules were in effect - but never had a problem....

I could be less than 100% correct on the alcohol issue, but I would've noticed THAT. Can smell that a mile away. If there was any there, no doubt I'd of found it and made an ass of myself.

Usually when I'm there, I'm scanning everything back and forth as I walk to try and hit up every isle-and do it before anyone else finds "my" parts! I used to be one of the first in the gate, until I heard all the vendors do all their swapping amongst themselves the night before...

But, for the life of me, I swear there ain't no beer. I would've spent an shitload more time and money there if there was!!!

Now you got me second guessing myself and I'm probably going to be spending more time scanning for booze than parts. Thanks a lot! LOL!

Being a vendor definitely has its perks - the home base to chill - was great - and yea - Set up night was when ALL the good stuff was gotten!

I called the Fair Grounds - they said no problem with a cooler (for water and samiches) as long as your not selling them - not sure how much water we are going to need - weather update shows thunder showers
- yuck!
