lincoln 4.6 misfire

got this 99 lincoln town car that has a random misfire. it will run smooth then miss a few times then run smooth again. scanner said cylinder #4. i put new plugs, and plug boots on it, and recently changed the intake manifold so i cleaned the injectors while it was apart. i'm told that the coil packs go bad often but i've never heard of one working part time. all the coils i've seen go bad stop working completely. so am i looking at a dead coil, or a injector going bad? both are expensive to replace so i'd rather have a good idea before i buy the parts

also possibly a ripped o ring on an injector while you had it apart. It's pretty easy to rip them. Any fuel Leak? Or vacum leak?
