Is it just me, or does Youtube blow today?

I've seen that before, but not so formal.

Wow, I'm impressed with that structure to hold all that weight.

So its a big advertisement stunt for the equipment manufacturer? I've seen it before, and looked kinda cool, but this one looks like they took the show on the road.

The vid: http://www.greatlakes4x4.com/showthr...ight=excavator

The pictures: http://www.greatlakes4x4.com/showthr...ight=excavator

Ahh the interwebz where everything old is new again.

Even though there are safety catches so it cannot fall it still takes a huge set to do that

never been around any heavy equipment, have you?

oil sprays, cylinder locks

this machine is heavily modified for this trick, obviously...heavy duty boom with multiple cylinders, heavy duty quick coupler with multiple cylinders, heavy duty stick with a boom cylinder swapped on, dual coupler attached to lock track frame to the structure, safety valves on the cylinders (in case a line did blow..requires hydraulic pressure to be applied to one end of cylinder in order to release the other end)

still wouldnt catch me doing more then the first lift

what surprises me is that they still have a fully intact counterweight on it...I'd think they would have removed it and put on a fake one

btw....Leibherr blows...

want to see a funky machine? search Menzi Muck

I thought they would of had to have the counter weight removed or a fake one also as Yota Bill said. I haven't been around them enough to know if the weight is real or not. As for the hydraulics, that part is easy to believe. I have worked with hydraulic simulators at a research/tech center. I have been standing next to a formula one car that looked to be floating in mid air. We had a hydraulic cylinder under each wheel, traveling up and down so fast that it looked as if there was about 8" of air space between the tire and the plate that was attached to the cylinder. It was very cool.
