dana 60 front spindle obsolete???

i went to dts today and took my spindle with me(its smoked). i show the guy what i need. he looks in a few books. goes in the back. comes back tells me its obsolete?? it should be dana part number 700022 from my online digging.
i see it for sale online. im assuming hes just mistaken??

anyone had trouble sourcing a d60 spindle??

i looked at bronco graveyard they list one for 78 & 79, the same one is listed for 85 to 91. i dont see one listed in between those years.

mine is kingpin, but i dont think its 78/79 vintage, and 85 to 91 i thought was ball joint.

are there any differences in spindles(pre superduty era)?

thx

Ford used TTB between those years. And as Tab said, the '85-91 is kingpin. This is pretty well established stuff.

ttb is dana 50 and 44 im pretty sure.

the spindles appear to be all the same from 78 to 92 from what i can see.
i ordered one from bronco graveyard. price was pretty good. it is part number 700022 or 700022x.

The 3/4 ton Dana 50 TTB uses Dana 60 parts knuckles out.

Here you go, don't appear to be out of stock.

TTB D50 spindles are slightly different then D60 spindles. They "can" work in place of the 60 spindle but they do not protrude as far into the knuckle.

And the older 3/4 ton TTB's were HD D44's not D50's.

Did you get Gordo?

He's an idiot. I ordered an aAburn for an AMC 20 and he transposed the numbers and I got one for a 10-bolt. He was supposed to get it picked up, but here it sits (no big deal, someone with a 10-bolt will want it).

i used the spindle off a balljoint 60 on my 79.the same thing but the newer one has a lock pin between the 2 nuts, so it will keep the outer nut locked..a better setup then the older style.

i think the part that protrudes into the knuckle is also a smaller diameter. and like you said not as deep.
