damn why fire that thing up in the garage and not an open field. Your looking to burn the house down if something goes wrong.

Pretty cool, safety first...

The turbine runs on propane, the afterburner is kerosene injected. It burns through a tank of propane pretty fast.the tank actually freezes up.Original thoughts where to put it on a big go cart type chassis. but just sits in my buddys garage collecting dust. The main piece is a Detroit diesel turbo charger and we made the rest from scrap parts.

So what kind of thrust does it actually generate. And when he said attach to lawn tractor he meant hard mount it to the back so you can drive it down the street. You might consider some cooling on that thing too, before there is a melt down.

.I would be careful with that thing if you don't know what your doing you could have a real disaster on your hands. A turbo charger is made a little different than a Jet engine and the blades are not meant to handle that type of heat. It looks like you have made a giant blow torch and if your pressures are not right you could push the ring of fire down your fuel line for your after burner.

Very cool. Dont know much about jet turbines but I got a feeling if they built it from scrap then they probably have an idea of what they're doin.

Maybe they do maybe they don't if they don't there sitting on a bomb. When a well designed turbine engine fails it causes lots and lots of damage. I have hade blades come off a turbine wheel and go thru the side of a van and thru a tool box making a dent in a wrench.

Just saying to be careful.
