Holland Mi. or Glen Arbor What to do?

So I'm thinking about having my family go to this resort in Holland but one of the families that is going with us in worried we won't have much to do there. Can you guys help . . . . that is if you know what there is to do in the area. The age range between the 4 families will be 4 - 59.

THANKS!

You should be very entertained. Theres a damn church on every corner.

From there you are about a 10 minute walk to the beach. However those pictures make the "resort" look a shit ton better than what it is. I always thought they were just condo's.

Downtown has a few decent resraunts, and touristy type shops. As far as summer nightlife, Saugatuck is deffinatly better. Bars and restraunts lining the river, most with big deck and patio's. And the homos generally stick to the dunes resort over in douglas.

However since I am currently boatless, my favorite part about holland is its only a little over an hour to silver lake.

I love how the pictures are angled just right so you don't realize that the swimming pool is about 30' from the side road and maybe 30 yards from the main drag. I miss the old pizza place that was there that they tore down.

anyways what time of year ya going? in the summer its great, go to the beach, go out on the pier, all a short walk from the condo's. make sure to hit up captain sundays when your there. its right up the road and they have great ice cream treats. Also there are jet ski rentals right up the road along with boat rentals as well.

A short drive down to saugatuck great shopping for the ladies nice river side bars aren't to bad. Also normally since it is known as a gay town it keeps out the white trash and hill billies.

Or you could go up the road to Grand Haven nice short drive up lakeshore ave kids can watch the lighted musical fountain and women can shop down town as well.

now if you go in the winter or spring.. well your screwed as not much is open and theres not much to do. or you could plan it totally wrong and be there for tulip time with all the retired people from the entire mid-west clogging the roads

Thanks for all the great input guys. I had no idea this was known as a "gay town". Kinda funny that it has lots of churchs then.

We are looking at going in mid or the end of July.

We are thinking about Glen Arbor MI. or maybe heading south to Tennessee/Kentucky as other options.

We referred to it as Doug's ass/Sausagetuck when I lived in Holland.
