Default Playstation Network Down

I booted my PS3 to play some MW2 and it wouldn't sign in. I checked my router, good. I noticed the clock said 12.31.1999.

I thought uh, oh. I manually set the clock, no change. I got an error code 8001050F.

I searched it and found a lot:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100301/...tion_problem_2

http://news.yahoo.com/s/zd/20100301/tc_zd/248763

So, it looks like I will just play my demo of Dante's Inferno. (Nudie Cartoon Chick included)

Mine took a shit around 8pm last night. I was playing a little while before then, but started lagging so I turned it off and ate some dinner. When I tried to sign back on, I got the same error code. From what I read last night...it is only happening to the old style "fat" PS3's, the new slim ones seem to be unaffected. Ploy by playstation to get people to buy the new model? I sure hope not.

Sony just released a PSA saying it will be fixed within 24 hours. It was just on the front page of drudge.

That is what was said in one of the above articles. I'm sure they will just sent a software update to fix it.

Word is someone tried to hack the PS network. It messed with the trophy system and sometimes even made offline game modes not work. Go 360!!
