I think it does what they set out to do, but I don't find it very attractive. Aston Martin set out to do the same thing with the Rapide and it is quite beautiful. I'll take a little loss in performance to drive something I don't want to puke while looking at.

I'll take a CTS-V instead.

Also, Cayenne makes sense. Not all companies can be like Ferrari and just stick to one segment. Most need to diversify to survive. The difference between the Cayenne and the Panamara is that the Cayanne does the job it was supposed to, but also looks good. On the note of ultimate SUV's, need to look at the Audi with the TT diesel and the new BMW.

This is the big point to keep in mind. Like them or not, Porsche's other products give the company the cash flow to keep making the 911 and Boxter/Cayman, and for that, I'm perfectly okay with them.

This car says I'm rich enough to afford an expensive car, but not enough to afford a real sports car AND a good people hauler, so I compromised on this soulless train wreck that does nothing the best, but does do everything. Either that or you're a middle aged suburbanite housewife.

Car and Driver thought it was worth an article. It's basically the vette of sporty SUV's. I've never really wanted a Corvette.

On the original topic, it's hard to support your love of a car like the 911 with facts. They aren't well balanced, nor are they the fastest or best handling cars in their price range, but I've always been drawn to them. I like the noise the air cooled models made, and I like the lines of almost all the 911's.

I don't know about any of you, but I'd take the uglier, faster, more agile car over the pretty, slower, and clumsier one.
