Default Issues

Ok folks I need some help, have done alot of research but just wanted to get opinions here also.

I have a 89 TBI 350 out of a van in my rig, I bought it with it in and the motor always ran great. Well in 2007 I broke the adapter to the t-case right in half (sm465-np205) at this point motor ran great. Well my rig sat until 09 do too babys and other life issues well I desided to put a summit fuel cell in the rig. now up to this point the guy I got the jeep from installed the entire wiring from the van including the fuel tank ( he put in the back seat).
So I installed the cell, and a inline electrical fuel pump, (same wiring) motor ran great. Got to the mounds on 3/15/09 and made it to the drive and the motor started knock very bad, so I figured I lost a bearing or rod or something. Well I had brain surgery 2 days later so my rig sat for a while again. Well come to find out the crankcase filled with gas, so the motor lost all LUBE causing the knock. I think the injectors were bad and leaked thats the only thing I could think of.
So I have now put in new injectors, new fuel pressure regulator. motor fires up knocking is still there not as bad ( I plan on rebuilding that) however now the motor runs like shit. It start and idols ok, but try and put it in gear and move it, it juist wants to stall like its getting to much fuel, starts to bog down and sputter. Push the clutch in give it some gas and you can get it to clear up a bit and start to run alittl bit better, but its not good at all.
The fuel pressure is reading 9-12lb which is correct, oil pressure is good also 32-34lbs at idol.
Just looking for some trouble shooting ideas, i know the basics, just looking for ideas in regards to sensors, vacum issues, ecm ideas etc. `Not real expericed in the Chevy motor area.

if the crank case filled with gas all the fuel had to go past the rings wich probly "washed" the rings, you probly have low or no compression on some cylinders, i would pull all the spark plugs and squirt some motor oil in the holes and roll the engine over by hand a few times, let it sit for a hour or so and reinstall the plugs if they are not also fouled from all the gas, start and run will smoke bad at first but will clear up should solve problem

well if it starts and runs the rings may be questionable? but I would think it has bigger issues. the knocking is driving your timing back. unplug the knock sensor down by the engine mount. if it clears up then you know its the knock causing the problem. secondly if it spun a bearing it will be binding the crank bad. use a timing light on the fuel spray to see if its dripping while running. is its not a nice cone shape then you have other issues.



something just accurd to me. check for a cracked throttle body. if its dumping fuel for no reason it maybe from the tbi body being split inside some where. try unplugging the injector while running and see if it stays running and smooths out

The knock sensor could be retarding your timing. Best thing is tear it down and fix the knock. Then deal with running problems. If it knocks then who cares how it runs. Fix the main problem and tune it later.
