Default Verizon data question...

So I signed up with Verizon last week and got a droid eris. I've been using the 3g internet for browsing sites and streaming podcasts and such. On my. contract I am paying an extra 30 dollars a month for data. Can anyone tell me if this is unlimited? I would call Verizon but I'm on a conference call right now and this is bugging the shit out of me. Thanks.

I was told it is unlimited e-mail and web browsing, but I don't have the plan. I was looking at getting a Crackberry but decided I didn't need that kind of phone.

$30 should be "unlimited." I use quotes because unlimited means 5GB or so.

So how much is 25mb? That costs $10/month. What could someone do with that each month.

Sorry, not tech savvy.

I just called them last week to ask them if this were true. They said no. Unlimited is only limited to "5GB" if you buy the computer tethering kit from them. Unlimited phone data is actually unlimited. Or so they want you to believe.

Not much. Some images can be larger than 1MB apiece easily.

That's pretty much just enough data allowance to get you into trouble if you start actually using it.

The "Unlimited" is for the phone only. If you hook it to a computer and use the phone as a modem, they can tell and will charge you $1.99/mb. That adds up quick. There are supposedly programs out there to get around how they detect your usage, but they detect the program too.

25mb is crap. I use my phone for facebook and the occasional info search and I used 45mb in the first week of this month.
