Rear Springs

front eye to center pin, 23"

rear eye to center pin 28 5/8"



Stock Height

17" from center of wheel to bottom of flare in the rear

17.5" at same locations in front



Front Axles

Dana 30 high pinion - reverse cut - 27 spline, 1.16" diameter shafts, 7.13" ring gear - used 84-99 (some axles through 91 are vacuum disconnect, 92+ are non-disconnect, 89-95 with ABS have 5-297x u-joints, all 95+ have 5-297x u-joints, all others have 5-260x u-joints)



Dana 30 low pinion - standard cut - 27 spline, 1.16" diameter shafts, 7.13" ring gear, 5-297x u-joints - used 00-01


Rear Axles

Dana 35, offered all year up to 97 or 98



Crysler 8.25 offered 92-01 92-96 27 spline 98 29 spline. 97 was a twener year, What spline shaft you have depends on when your vehicle was made. AKAIK there was no rhyme or reason for for ahving the 8.25 under your rig, other than they were used when D35's were in short supply.



1.12 shaft dia. for 27 spline shafts

1.21 shaft dia. for 29 spline units

It can be identified by a flatish bottom on the diff cover, as opposed to the oval shape on D35's



Dana 44 offered 87-89 in vehicles with a tow package as an option. Will bolt directly into newer XJ or .

how do you know what an up country is, and if you have one....

I have a 94 and it says country on the side.......

But if I remember correctly the Up Country package only came on 97-01 XJ's. Yours saying Country is only the trim package level and doesn't relate to the Up Country package.

Great info!

One measurement I didn't see is the rear spring perch spacing (C-C between locating pins). Does anyone know this measurement?
