Thumbs down MF'ing Firefox 3.6 - Menu Bar grayed out

Just installed 3.6. Any toolbar customizations result in the entire menu bar being grayed out. Only doing simple things, like adding cut/copy/paste and the "add tab" buttons. The Menu Bar only comes back if you close out and open a new window - and the customizations do not get saved, either.

I do have some add-ons in use and have been sequentially removing them to see if there is a conflict. No dice yet.

Anyone else seen this? Schweeb?

What add-ons do you use?

You're referring to the bookmark toolbar, not the menu toolbar, right?

You might have to start over with a new profile, which I can help with later. Whenever I have issues with a new version of Firefox, it's usually due to a "corrupt" or "legacy" profile. Basically, they've probably changed the profile format, or changed some setting just enough so that it conflicts with something in your profile. Should be able to pull over your old bookmarks and maybe some other stuff into a new one.

No, I am not. I am referring to the Menu Bar - the one that says "File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help".

This happened after uninstalling Firefox completely, rebooting, installing 3.6, rebooting, and importing all my bookmarks that i exported prior to uninstalling.

Uninstalling doesn't remove your profile. Unless you explicitly delete your profile, it's still there.

If your menu toolbar is screwed up, that's definitely the first thing I'd do.

I'm too lazy to google and come up with an exact methodology for you now, but I can later. Just deleting your profile manually does bad things too, so don't do that.

A lead to investigate is fine. I'll look into that. Thanks.

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager

Here's info on how to start Profile Manager, which is how you need to create a new profile and delete the old without breaking firefox.

Since it sounds like you know how to export bookmarks, I won't go into that.

There's probably a way to transfer saved passwords, etc... but it's usually not worth the effort IMO.
