Default Work Boots - Chippewa Super Loggers - Anyone tried them?

Has anyone ever purchased chippewa super logger boots before? They seem to have great reviews but are rather expensive. I'm ready to buy just a little curious as to the fit of the boot. No one around here carries them and I generally wear a 12-13 size boot but without trying them on I can never be sure. I don't want to order them and they don't fit. Does anyone have experience with other work boots. I've had redwings, rocky, georgia, and other misc. boots and the only one's that ever held up well were the rocky boots.

I'm pretty set on ordering these chippewa super loggers but just want to make absolutely sure they are worth the money before spending $200.00 for a pair of boots.

Here is what I'm looking at:

Danner FTW

guys at the shop seem to like some Australian made boot, but ill stick to my Danners.

my view on it is, if your going to be gropping money on boots buy ones that are known for their quality.

IMO i would not buy boots just because they are USA made. being made here doesn't guarantee quality.

danner is quality, hands down. your money will be well spent with them.

I have no need for a boot with a heel that big.

i drop $200 every 3-4 years on carolina boots.
i just resole them.
never owned the chippewas but had a pair of carolinas that looked just like those and they were VERY comfy and rugged.

I'm also going after comfort as I walk alot. Close to 1 million square feet in my building and it wears on the boots in a hurry. Thougts on steel toe versus non steel toe? I don't really need steel toe and I've had these boots wear thru the steel toe leather cover in a hurry.

I'm pretty sure you will hate life wearing loggers boots inside on a concrete floor all day.

I'm use to wearing boots like this so it's really not an issue.

Really? Boots with that big of a heel would kill my calfs if I had to wear them inside all day. I would recommend a 6 inch lightweight boot for inside work.

I have had Chippewas before. Great boot. I have worn Carolinas and Georgia Giants too. You can't really go wrong with them. If you are ever in Midland, just north of the mall on Eastman is a store called Thomas Trading Post. All of the above named boots, plus Red Wing, Danner and Sage (what I am wearing now). Plus Carhartt and all kinds of good work wear.

I've heard of that store before. I heard they have an incredible selection!! I just don't get over there too often. They don't show up as a chippewa boot dealer but hey maybe I will have to scoot up there this week sometime.

They may not be a Chippewa dealer. Give them a call and see. I know it would be a hike for you to get there, but for our area they have the best selection by far.

never had the chippewa, have had danners and they lasted a long time. the best pair of boots that i ever had was a pair of carolina-golds...should have had them re-soled as they don't make them any more....
