I would use AVG instead of Avast! Download AVG and do the same thing, update definitions and run a full scan incase malwarebytes missed something.

Another good tool to run is Combofix if you are still having problems!

AVG is good, but for some reason I find avast's UI easier.

Really can't go wrong with either.

CC I have had little luck using the Hijack this. it doesn't tell you what is bad. it just shows what running. and the site it sends you to tell you to research crap in the forums there

What does she do on her brand new computer that would yield so many infections? I standard virus scans don't fix my issue, I always just backup what I can, and reformat and start fresh.

How could she fukc up a new computer so quickly? You should observe her downloading/web browsing and find out where the problem is.

I don't even hardly use any protection software because I use the Internet responsibly.

She mostly use's it for internet and downloading music... so im guessing Limewire did it.

found out today the security esentials was disabled from a spyware. ran the spy-bot after I uploaded the latest version. has 13 thing running in the back and one was a windows security off switch.
