ive been thinking the same thing. i did it as a youngester and was a second degree brown belt in karate till i got stupid. its been about 15 years but i remember how i felt and how i could kick hanging plants with no problem, no i pull my groin if my foot goes above knee level lol. im in the milford area but dont really want to get back into karate, even though it was fun.

I thinking about going back into self defense myself. I got out of MMA 3 years ago after breaking my leg in a sparring match. I now have the financial means to get back into martial arts so I think I'm going to pursue it. I would really like to gain some experience refereeing so I can work at some of the cage events in the area.

I was just thinking about how one would get into that too. I love to watch the fights, but wanted to get more involved without actually fighting (bad knees from sports and a few bad falls).

I'm 45 years old. The leg break made me realize I need to slow down. I've always been an aggresive fighter when sparring and training. I now realize that I can still have a good time without putting such large physical demands on my body. I have vowed to never train full contact again after busting my leg up.
