these are important. learn from them. employers look at these things.

Employers look at confidence. I walked in there with a dick full of confidence and I shot it all over the shop.

I sent someone home from an interview last week who was 10 minutes late. I didn't waste my time interviewing him.

In all honesty I'm not here to discuss the politics and ways of an interview. There are plenty of threads here for that. I just wanted to say that my welds sucked.

I had an interview and a welding test myself today. I didn't get the job because I set my tie on fire.

At least the guy noticed my welds got a hell of a lot better on the second try. That and the song "Hot Blooded" came on the radio, I think that helped. I'll probably end up being a tubing bender, which is fine with me.

Hmm that's funny, because if you wanted to talk about your crappy welds you probably would have titled the thread, "crap, my welds suck"

See how we were led astray?

Well, I did say in the first few words that weld tests suck. Sorry for forcing you to waste your time reading my thread and then giving me your opinion on why you wouldn't hire me.

I was confused for a moment. I couldn't figure out how someone got an interview in MI but then noticed Location CA. It all makes sense now. Dont sweat it they were not goint to hire you anyways. They just interviewed you for HR reasons. They are going to hire a mexican that will work for half the price.

For what its worth though....Good Luck.

As bad as that sounds, it's probably true. I'm not making a big deal out of it, the job called for 2-3 years of experience, and I don't have any.

Agreed

In fact, I would not have even seen the applicant. I would have turned them away on the spot.

I really shouldn't have mentioned that since now everyone is taking that as the main point and not the real rant issue here. It was an honest mistake, and luckily the employer knew that. It's not like I wasted his time anyway, the guy who scheduled me seemed really laid back on times.
