Default New guy here Dana 44 question

Hello I have a 72 F-250 DANA 44(closed knuckle) front and was wondering is it a bad idea to mini spool the front?

Do i run the risk of wrecking anything with a mini spool up front when I cruise around town with the hubs open?

If the hubs are unlocked and it's in 2wd, the diff won't turn. I don't see how that could hurt anything.
