Question Office holiday parties

My company is having an holiday party in the evening, and spouses are not invited.

I think Motrctyman's holiday party is in the aftenoon, and no spouses are invited either.

How about the rest of you?

Do any of you have an holiday party that allows you to bring a spouse or significant other?

Spouses are invited to mine. We are having it at the Thornlea Mansion on the grounds of Cranbrook.

Mine is tonight in our office but catered by the Rattlesnake Club (which is just across the street). Spouses are invited.

... But the best part is that they wheeled in three cases of wine Friday afternoon for tonight's party!

Where do you work? My wife works for the Advertising agency across the hall from the Rattelsnake Club.

I work in the Park Davis building across the way from the Rattlesnake Club at the Skillman Foundation (we just moved into the neighborhood about 6 weeks ago).

we have internal office "buffet's" that are during work hours - think of it as a 2 hour lunch.

then there's the organization wide parties, most are pay to attend, and "open". I have gone, but don't anymore.

Then there are association/membership luncheon's/parties. I dont' attend those either - most are also pay to attend.

by and large, the people in my "certified" profession are colleagues. nothing more, and at one point I considered many friends, I was mistaken.

life is simpler and less if I just view them as colleagues, and not associate, or fraternize with most of 'em.

:dunno:
