Default India Rx

The Economic Times of India is reporting that the US' largest drugstore chain Walgreens on Thursday announced a 10-year outsourcing deal with India. Walgreens is shifting its accounting processes and jobs to Genpact, a loss of at least 500 American jobs. This as The Labor Department announced that employers cut 85,000 jobs last month, worse than analysts had expected. It's time for America to repudiate the Reagan and Clinton policies of "free trade" and return to a national industrial and trade policy that will keep American companies hiring Americans instead of Chinese and Indians.

NOTE: You see I included Clinton in that guys? So don't give me that partisan crap.

what ever happened to the old fashioned boycotts where people protested against something they didn't like?. people don't care enough anymore. they want what they want and don't care how they get it or who it affects by not buying locally.

I am not surprised. When I broke my ribs this year I was talking to an x-ray tech that told me something interesting:
Some hospitals are trying to cut staff whenever they can, so one thing they do in the radiology department is to cut the number of staffed radiologists and send X-ray pictures electronically to India.

Since the times of day are offset, today's films can be sent off to India at the "end of the day". They pay Indian doctors (pennies on the dollar, I'm sure) to review the x-rays and write a report. When the U.S. radiologist comes in the next morning, they skim over the reports for errors, then quickly rewrite them in an official hospital report.

Some flexible spending account companies are doing the same thing with FSA receipts and charges. They'll send them to India for a doctor to review and scrutinize to try to keep from paying out the reimbursement. Happens to a coworker a couple times a year for routing medical expenses (that are covered) for his kids.

This, and our new healthcare bill go hand in hand.

What happened to it is:

1. We got fat and happy with our big TV's, RV's, and other crap.
2. Our media (and therefore the majororty of information/misinformation/censorship) was bought out and now controlled by a few major corporations. This by the overturning of long-held regulations put in place to prevent this for this exact reason. Yet another "benefit" of deregulation in support of the "free market".
3. We have been deregulated to death by EVERY president since Reagan in the name of free markets to the point where we've given everything away for free. Was what they intended?

Getting out in the streets. Please. No one is going to get out of their chair. We've forgotten what it said in our Declaration of Independence: "...Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it..."

Time to throw the tea in the harbor. Toes, you with me?

This has been going on for a few years, at least. Except for reduced cost, the other benefits are: faster reports, and often better trained doctors read your x-rays.

This has been going on for years and we are just starting to feel the pain, I predict we will be in a deperssion here in America by early next winter (SOME ALREADY ARE), we just cant survive on unemployment and fast food and huge department store jobs here in America! All the classes of Americans have shifted, we now only have two classes, the poor (unemployeed middle class) and the rich, and the rich are loosing their wealth quickly, because the value of their dollar is not worth as much because the middle class is not working and has disapeared off the face of America! Because American companies are developing other countries middle class, its profitable welcome business for them.

We are just being balanced out with the rest of the world right now(wages), and when we get hungry enough we will work for less, then the jobs might just come back, MAYBE!

And its not going to matter if your a doctor or lawyer you have compitition that will work for less some where in the world and they can be brought over quickly to replace you!

We as Americans are going to have to rebuild SOME HOW!
