I want to get a pickup version either a M1008 or M1028. I don't want to sell it, currently my daily driver. But I have too many vehicles. So not really interested in a trade unless it's a military pickup.

i have a really hard time seeing that getting better mileage then a newer stock diesel on the highway.

they are solid rigs but the old detroit diesel doesnt get 24 on the highway.

they are awesome but dont have the power to move its self with out the turbo and then still lacking some.

where can it be viewed at? id like to find a solid body

I assure you it does if you keep it 55 or under and drive normally. I have made many trips 3 1/2 hours one way this past summer and even with my camper averaged 19 mpg. It has 3:08 gears too which helps the miliage. It can be seen in Owosso MI, pm if you need an address. Thanks.

I have heard too being non emissions and factory dual exhaust helps some on the miliage too.

It's still as it was military spec with 24v starter and glow plug system. Everything else is 12v. The alternators I used are from Old Iron military supply and are the correct isolated ground alts. People tend to buy the wrong ones with these. Thanks

I can tell you out right they get 24 without batting an eye. my ol' buddy Bob had a `85 4x4 burb that got 24 all day long. drove it every day to work. I have worked on so may its hard to remember, but I know the mileage for a fact. after he died I wanted to buy the truck but his widow wouldn't sell it.

Another voucher for the mileage, these are great rigs. They ARE a litte wanting for power, but they'll rumble right along and last a long time. I already own one or I'd be a player. Bump for a cool rig!

Isn't it supposed to have 4.56 in axle?

Does tag on cab say US property with Chevy logo on it?

Been want buy one.

I know 1 guy with 84 Chevy k20 with 6.2L 2wd. He got 25 mpg Hwy at 65 mph.

Still scared about 6.2L issues that plague for many years.

All of the trucks have dana 60 and 14ff with 4.56 detroit in the rear. The blazers were built for miliage and left 1/2 ton even though the military rates them at 3/4 ton as the one ton truck is rated at 5/4 ton. 6.2's don't like high rpm but are know to get 250,000 - 300,000 miles on them still with proper care. And yes, all the original military tags are still present.
