It amazes me that after all the research that has been done on subjects like this that the Dems. still vote against it.

Just looking for control and don't really give a damn about people.

This sums it up:

"A law-abiding citizen who possesses a firearm lawfully represents no danger to law enforcement officers or any other first responder," Canterbury wrote.

Taking away guns would only keep honest citizens honest. The people you need to worry about aren't going to give them up anyway.

more hipocracy, they all have armed guards, and new orleans had 1/3 of ots cops turn out to be pussies who fled. The remaining who werent looting were glewfully beating up old ladies to take their guns, all the while bands of robbing thugs run the city .... THIS IS THE SOLUTION ? I can't belive this was even brought up to vote on.

Lastly cops dont have to "protect you" there is no guarantee the will even try, and you have ZERO recourse if they dont protect you.

I propose a bill that everyone who votes for ANY gun control bill forfeits all rights to their armed guards. Clearly there is no danger out there .... why are we wasting money on guarding you ? They get no guards at all no escorts nothing, just like little old ladies in the hood who have to walk to the market through gangland. Everyone who thinks its a magic fairy land can live like its a magic fair land. Bunch of queer fairies

Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., repeatedly called the bill "insane."

He and some Democrats said the bill might satisfy the gun lobby, but it would put people into more danger during already perilous disasters.
These people still don't get it.

Why would this even be an issue and voted on, that's what we have the 2nd and 4th amendment for.

The crap that happened in New Orleans was crazy (i.e. police forcibly confiscating firearms from innocent citizens in some effort to "keep the peace".

The fact that there was even a vote on this should serve as tangible evidence that the NRA is NOT made up of reactionary whackos. The fact that it wasn't defeated unanimously is solid proof that our Second Amendment Rights are under attack.

That's why I'm an NRA Life Member.

Anyone who isn't already a member and wants to join, let me know.

In a perfect world that bill would have been about making it legal to shoot liberals.

I think that was a little different.

I don't think I know of a gun store owner that would not do everything he could to help the police in a situation like the LA shootout.

yeah if i remember the LAPD went there to buy gus or borrow them, they definately did not wave badges and take them forcibly against the gun shop owners will. He was very willing to give them what ever it took to level the field with those body armour bank robbers.

Exact opposite of say New orleans where they forcibly disarmed little old ladies with .22 pistols.
