Alot Its under a trap waiting on me to find the time to work on it. Im going to start back on working on it in about 2 weeks. Once its under its own power and driving again it will be stripped down and 100% media blasted & repainted. Time to pay the piper bitch!

This is a damn nice build-up. I have a few questions on that 44/60 front axle that I couldn't seem to find in the posts. Is it running 35 spline shafts inner and outer with the D60 ujoints? Did you all the parts from Solid for the build (inner knuckle, outer knuckle, spindles, brakes, hubs)? Did the inner C already fit the tube? If not, what approach did you take?

It really wasn't clear, did you wheel this axle with the 36's? Break anything or did it work really well?

That is one of my axle builds, I used a F-250 hp44 as it uses 3" tubes instead of 2 3/4" tube. Used stock ford 60 inner c's and made a sleeve to make up the 1/8" of difference. The outters were so he could run 5 lug, otherwise you can run stock ford outers if you want 8 lug. The short side is a stock ford 60 shaft and the long side is a cut down stock ford unit.

They installed in the jeep and did some assembly (solid axle knuckles out) but the axle I did.

Did you make the sleeve by taking a 1/8" piece of mild sheet and wrap the tube with it? How wide did you make the sleeve? Just to fit in the knuckles or did it cover a little more of the axle tube?

The reasons for the questions is I have access to some D60 knuckles and have a D44R housing. I want to know if the build is going to handle 37's. The D44R I run now is always a crap shoot. Some days it is unbreakable, other days it spits out joints and shafts.

Yes but you need 1/16" (16 gauge I think) sheet, 2" wide but you have to be careful to make sure the c is on correctly.

37's should be no problem. 39's if you r easy on the go pedel.

Only down fall is to run stock 60 shafts is an Arb is the only diff you can run.

for the amount of money he has in that axle he should have just built a 60. nothing like having you weak link be your ring and pinion

Yep I should have gone 60 in the first place but many parts on this axle will be reused on the front 60 I will be building soon. Jeep is still under a tarp, but only for a few more weeks till finals are over.

I sold it and bought an aeroplane

Goin back in the garage for the final stage of this build by Friday, then will be comming back out by the end of the month fully operational. I need to get a run under its belt to make sure everything works right. After that its time for paint.
