2001 CHEVY 2500 LS 4x4 EXTENDED CAB AWESOME WORK TRUCK
NEW BRAKES

6.0L

Work truck, vinyl seats and rubber/plastic floor. manual locks/windows.

Needs knock sensors(new ones come with)

ABS light. possible recall sensors rust/collect dirt

Rockers rusted out full length of truck only on bottom.Passengers side is worse than drivers.

gas vs. diesel will make a HUGE difference. to me it sounds like it hasn't had the best of maintenance so I'm not sure if I'd offer much more than 5,000-6,000 for it if it's the 6.0L Gas

initiating a self-slap I missed the 6.0L Reference.

"rough trade-in" @ NADA = $5,600 so I was right in the ballpark for my zip code, but I'd definitely want a diagnosis from a professional as to what the driveline noise was, then work my way down depending on the cost to get it at least to 'clean'

he definitely sounds flexible on the price. I know worst he can say is no.

he has only had the truck a year and a half so I didn't get a lot of history out of it.

landscaping company, never used for plowing. it sat most of the time because the right rear window broke, he didn't feel like fixing right away because he had other truck to use.

seemed like he had to many trucks for his business and wanted to lighten the load.

If i could get it on a hoist I could diagnose it but I don't have access to one. He was talking about taking it to a dealer for the ABS recall so I'm going to see if he will get it diagnosed there. If he won't its not worth trying for unless the price is right.

it does sound a little rough and might nickel and dime you, i think if you could get it for $3500 you would be getting a pretty good deal.

$9500.00 is ridiciulous for that truck. I would walk away for any more than around $3000.00. that truck in great shape you can find $5-7,000.00. If the rockers are rotted that bad look at the underneath and check out the brake lines and fuel lines.

You could find a way better truck for around 7k right now. Even if he did accept under 5, how much would you be putting into it? The headaches of stuff break? That "only"96,000 miles is irrelevant on a truck that appears to have been treated like a red headed step child

X2 $3000 tops!!! And to be honest I would not even think about buying it, you can find much better deals on trucks that dont need any work! $9,500 is a fucking joke...walk away now and save yourself a big fat head ache!

Wow, you weren't joking that he was asking 9500. I thought you made that figure up to make it look like you got a better deal if you did buy it.

Lots of good advice here, I'd stay away from it... Any douche bag asking double KBB for a ragged on, beat up, rusted out truck isn't even worth dealing with.

You don't even have a conceivable starting figure, how the hell do you expect the owner to reason with you? I'd continue my search elsewhere...
