so, here is how it played out.

$569 original price
$439 - best buy price match
20% off coupon brings the total to $351.20
with tax - $372
subtract the $30 I saved with the gift cards

Total - $342 out the door
And yes, the people behind me in line were not happy with the 15 minute transaction
Should of bought the gift cards at Kroger. They are offering the same promotion. But you get double point rewards right now. So you would have also gotten 600 Kroger points which I believe is about $0.50/Gal off of gas at 4x a month.

We bout the dc 24 last night a big lots for 279. The ball is awesome navigates around crap so easily. I understand collecting dog hair but this thing pulled so much sand/dirt from deep down in the carpet. It is awesome.

we have had our dyson for 3-4 yrs and we love it. we use to go through a vacuum a yr because they would run for crap after that (even with proper maintenance) the dyson still has the power it did when new and cord length and the empty deal you brought up has never been an issue.

Just wondering though...I thought you had about 3 or 4 of those heavy duty Roomba's? What ever happened with those?

They are nice vacuums, and VERY easy to empty, we use one at the store, we have crappy carpet though. It's basically fabric stapled down. Let me know if you need anything!
It may void the installation warranty from the company you bought the carpet from, but I've never heard of it voiding a manufacture warranty.

They suck (or don't for that matter) for dog hair.

That was pre-shedding dog. Those things worked great.

Ok, not sure if I have a defective dyson or not, but after having to go over the same spots two different ways to pick up dog hair, I finally finished cleaning one room.

When I was done, I went back over the room with my old (and worn out) bissel pet hair eraser, and got an entire bucket full of hair and dirt.

This sounds more like it... My parents HATE their Dyson. FWIW. To the point it sits in the basement to use down there. They went back to their old 5-6 year old Hoover for the main part of the house.

I just bought a Bissel pet hair eraser. Boy does it have some suction. Nothing would touch my cat's hair on my couches, but this thing pics it up no problem.

Make sure it is not on the "wood floor" setting. I almost took ours back before reading the destructions

I've used that thing for three years, and it is an awesome vac. The big downside is I have to do two sets of stairs, and you can't turn off the brushes. If you leave that vac on carpet whiule you're doing the stairs, you will find you have a nice melted clump of carpet.

I don't see that as an option. it's either brushes on, or brushes off.

The ball technology is over-engineered for its job. Until they make the vacuum wireless I don't see the ball technology being worth it. I don't vacuum the floor like I mow the lawn.

Did you see the one I was talking about in my first post? Stairs are not an issue with mine. It has two switches first of all so only the brushes can be turned off. But instead of having to lug the whole vacuum up the stairs you can just pick the canister out of the assembly like so...

We've been rolling with the dc07 forever. Take it apart twice a year for a good cleaning and it's good as new. We use it every other day. I'm surprised it has lasted this long.
