I under stand also the theory of " i would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6" that makes sense.. the ultimate goal here is survival and protecting self and more importantly family

If your life is in danger and you have no way out, you must do what you have to in order to "stop" them. now, in stopping them, they may be killed however it is all in the wording. But just by saying that "you will kill anyone that walks into your house" you are automatically setting yourself up for problems. I also feel that just by saying the things some people do in forums like these and especially over at migunowners is doing nothing but incriminating themselves and proving cases against themselves and their character if anything ever were to happen.

for instance, if you have a problem with someone who has threatened your life.. lets say an enemy, jaded ex husband, stalker, whatever... and you say to someone if that bastard comes in my house, i will shoot that son of a bitch dead on the spot" and then, this person does in fact come looking for you and one night breaks in looking for you, and you do in fact shoot him dead... then guess what, you just basically admitted intent to commit murder.

in self defense, personal protection and even when referring to the castle doctrine it is referred to you having the right to STOP the aggressor or intruder and in many case that is only if your life is in immediate danger and you have no other way out. basically cornered with no other option and in some cases they need either be wielding a weapon, or be of significant capability to overpower you and cause great physical harm.

The way people talk sometimes makes me think they wish someone would break in just so they would have the opportunity, well guess what? talk to anyone who has taken a life before. You won't feel as much a man as you think after. In fact, i bet you are never the same. And if you do feel good afterwards, then guess what? You should have never shared 2nd ammendment rights with us in the first place.

So before anyone goes around "bigdicking" and acting like a tough guy or superhero, keep in mind that your actions will have long term consequences no matter what.

i agree with everything you said except this. That would be argued as hearsay . Seen it on Law and Order Criminal Intent.

i think he means "Gerbil".

A Gerbil is a small mammal of the order Rodentia. Once known simply as "desert rats", the gerbil subfamily includes about 110 species of African, Indian, and Asian rodents, including sand rats and jirds, all of which are adapted to arid habitats. Most are primarily diurnal [1] (though some, including the common household pet, do exhibit crepuscular behavior), and almost all are omnivorous.

The word "gerbil" is a diminutive form of "jerboa", though the jerboas are an unrelated group of rodents occupying a similar ecological niche.

Huh, the next question would then be why would he take a gerbil to a dog park ? See post # 18. And how would the little guy carry that gun in the pick so he could "bust a cap" in some bitches

thank you PACMAN and othe guy who suggested a revolver. i'm not looking for any kind of revenge. thank you for being the small percentage of people who know how to read on this forum. i simply stated that the reason i don't have one is because i didn't want to put the time into it, but if i was considering one, i would do all of the above mentioned like trying them out, talking to a professional, taking ALL classes and more, practice at the range, ect... not sure how many times and ways i have to explain it to others so they understand. i would never want the chance to shoot it in an emergency, but if i had to because i'm in danger for my life? i would make sure i am prepared to do so. i'm curious what some of you would do if your family was in danger. hide like a little bitch and not protect your family? i would hope you would do something, but what?
a rhody is just short for rhodesian ridgeback. and don't talk to me about spelling on this forum. most of you can't even complete a sentence.

Thank you so much for clarifying that. I was starting to worry about the gerbils in the world.

The best things a Man can do for his family is stay out of Jail. If you use any kind of Force and Accidentally kill someone, You're family will be worst off then if you let them take the TV and Computer. To answer your Question simply, I'd make sure my family was safe and I would do all I could to keep them that way intill the Authorities Arrive. This is not being a "bitch" but rather a Smart, Responsible person. Something you will understand if you take on of those classes.

Comments like these are what get you the attitude from most of the people on here. And as far as Spelling goes, You may want to be able to type Proper Paragraphs and Form Sentences of your own first before you start throwing that one around. Either except the advice you've been given or continue to make a Complete fool out of your self.

That's all for now. I'm too tired to deal with grammar and punctuation right now. Yes I'm a smart-ass.

Sebastian.

I seriously hope you are considering a weapon for personal defense - with every person that legally arms them self, one more person joins the side of "equalization".

I also hope that in wanting to arm yourself, you take a serious look into the responsibility of owning a firearm and the skills needed to own, fire and maintain one. It is a serious responsibility, as you are accountable for that weapon 24/7/365 - and any accidents that may come from possessing one.

I, for one, understand your anger. Nothing makes you feel more helpless than being the victim of a crime - except when a loved one is a victim of that crime and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. My sister was held at gunpoint, face down on the floor, during a robbery at work. She doesn't choose the best places to work, but that's not the point - just thinking of someone holding her down at gunpoint - deciding her fate... it gets my blood boiling.
I also have had a house broken into while I was at work and the perps beat up one of my dogs. I felt incredibly vulnerable and violated.

Anyway, calm down, spend some time with a responsible gun owner and their guns to see if it is for you. Owning firearm is a lot of work, but it is well worth it.

Far from a midget, but I own a 45 and 4 12 gagues. a 38, 40, 22, 9mm, 223(AR15), 30.06, bla bla bla..

The originator should just carve on from a 2x6 and he can beat someone over the head if he needs it. Sounds like his girlfriend is a tad brighter...
