passenger side airbags commonly smack windshields at roughly 200 mph... since they fling up from the top of the dash, instead of out of the steeringwheel

and when the glass shatters like that, it no longer maintains the structural rigidity to be bowed outwards thanks to gravity.

Me either. I drive pickups.

Although on a related note, one of our downtown grounds people was driving a gator and a truck ran right into the side of her. Busted the glass door, bent the A pillar on the cab. The worker got a gash on her head and had to have 4 stiches. This is the second accident she has been in with a utility vehicle. Neither her fault though.

The worst thing is that their fat ass supervisor wouldn't even come out of the building to check on his employee. He told one of the other grounds workers to "take care of it." This guy is such a d-bag.

Holy shit - isn't there a procedure or something that requires the supervisor to go to the scene to see / document what happened - especially since an injury requiring treatment was involved?

Sounds like something that ought to anonymously find it's way to an ombudsman or senior leader.

The supervisors are responsible for their employees. He is an ass. He is/was under investigation for a bunch of shit against his employees and things that may or may not have been said about him and things he wants to do things to the governors daughter. I am really hoping he is going to get fired but I am sure it isn't going to happen.

The Hertz rental, a Malibu LTZ was able to go 135 MPH and it only floated a few times.
I am glad no deer walked into our flight path.

I was thinking that perhaps it had the fake aluminum wheel looking 5 spoke hubcaps plastered on top of black 5 spoke steel wheels.

I know as an example that some of the police package chargers come equipped that way.

Anyway, if that's the case, the plastic hubcaps would have shattered into tiny pieces considering that the steel rims also broke

I saw this right when they listed it and was trying to put together a "do-it-yourself" repair estimate in my head. I almost drove out there and checked it out.

I keep hearing the 'Dukes horn in my head and that made me not bid on it.

Being a state employee, the best advice I can give you is to stay away from state vehicles.

it used to be that you could get a 1/2 ton extended cab 4x4 chevy or ford that was 5-6 years old for about 4k from bidcorp.

as the site has gotten more popular, it seems people have been subjecting themselves to bidders frenzy and bidding those things up to 7-8k.

even the hot tub that was up there... (used unknown condition/age) is sitting at 1,500 give or take. *sigh*

I'd imagine it went down like this:

Stabenow's husband was stuck in Michigan while his troll was here on official bidnezz. He managed to talk his way into borrowing this car, and went cruising for whores downtown. They all got drunk on cheap liquor and sped on some crank - they took the wrong turn out of a burger king parking lot (going home to Debbie smelling like cheap whores and booze is always easier if you go packing several double whoppers, large fries and a bucket 'o chocolate shake) and missed the drive. They ended up launching of the parking lot from a height of 4' and landed on the street.

The food was used to bribe the fatass detroit cops that showed up on the scene, so it stayed out of the news. I know about it because Kelly was one of the cheap whores, and still has powder burns on the back of his neck from the driver's side steering wheel airbag going off..
