Post WJ/XJ unit bearings on a D30

Will the Unit bearings from a WJ/2000 grand Cherokee D30 swap to a 1994 XJ Cherokee D30 and use the same XJ inner and outer shafts? Im thinking of swapping in a D44a rear from a WJ i already have and The front axle, a D30 from a 94 XJ. The WJ has a 5 X 5 lug pattern. Thats why im asking.

Should swap fine... you may have an issue with brake rotor hat depth, but there are like 3 sizes for a d30 and one will work.

I know the shafts are the same. I once got a WJ unit bearing by mistake and didn't notice it was different until I went to put the rotor back on.

U-joints won't center properly to the ball joints. Unit bearings mate to the shafts at different depths. here's the write up.

What he is doing is totally different than what im doing. In the write-up he is using WJ knuckles, calipers and TJ hubs. Im going to use WJ hubs only. But because of the write-up I will check for any differances now that you have brought this to my attention. Thx for the info. If it turns into a cluster F* I'll probably weld and redrill the hubs I have.

All the WJ, YJ, TJ, XJ, etc hubs... hold the shaft in the same location.

Tell me something I don't already know. If I were going to use it for a rock crawler then yes your right and it wouldn't make sense to use it. The Willy's pick-up, these days is more of a "Mall" crawler. Nobodies beating on the front door for this axle(its for sale) so rather than do nothing with it and lose $$$/what I paid for it, I'll put it to use till im done pouring money into my D60 & D44. "and then scrap it"/part it out or sell whole with the tubes shaved of the coil buckets, replaced with leaf spring pads.

If my Flathead 6 cylinder breaks a D44a while im wheeling......I'll be impressed.
