LED interior and exterior lighting

As stated in my HID thread, I'm going to have some LED's on hand as well. I got a "sample quantity" of LED lights in stock, and want to gauge interest - see what I should be stocking. Below are pictures of my XJ.

I changed out the gauge cluster lighting to blue, put white LED's in the center console, white in the footwells, map lights, rear cargo area lights, license plate, brake light, ect...

As CC pointed out to me, these LED's are also excellent for use for bulbs that seem to burn out alot, like DRL's on GM trucks.

All the bulbs I have right now are single filament replacements. I plan on getting dual filament replacements on my next order. The biggest problem, is that the T-base bulbs are not the same as our factory. They need to be modified to work. The older-style socket ones work great.

Again, I have some in stock, but interested in demand and what I should buy more of.

Pricing.

The overhead dome lights are $24 total, and the forward dome light will have to be spliced in. If you know the domes, the rear is a snap in festoon, which I have the adaptor for, but the forward one clips on, which I do not have the adaptor for. It will make sense when I show you. The LEDs are then taped/glued to the lens. Its a bank of 24. Compare to the bank of 25 here: http://www.oznium.com/led-dome Note that I am selling two for $24 instead of one for $22. That video shows the same connectors I have and how they install.

Overhead Map lights:

$5/ea for 5 LED/fixture
$8/ea for 9 LED/fixture

5 LED available in White, Blue, and Yellow (yellow goes in XJ side marker lights)

9 LED available in white, blue, and red (red replaces XJ CHMSL)

Footwell lights:

$12/ea for 18 LED/fixture single filament replacement - $18 on superbrightleds.com
$15/ea for 27 LED/fixture single filament replacement - not offered there

18 LED:

27 LED:

Gauge and warning lights:

$2 each (need 5 for 2nd gen XJ)

Reverse lights:
$15/ea for 27 LED fixture

Brake Lights/Dual filament turn signal replacement, 27 LED fixture: $18.

Festoon lights (not used on XJ, but many other cars, many cars map lights and license plate lights are these, available in white and blue: $5

XJ Center console, available in white, blue, and green: $3

Super bright CMOS projector LED in white: $5

Installed pics:

Gauges in blue. Some "hot spots" but a little better in person than in pic.

Showing incandescent bulbs in yellow, vs LED map light.

"Modular" LED's to replace cargo light. Plug and play right into original festoon mount for power. LEDs are mounted to plastic lens.

Licence plate light. Also can see how bright cargo light is, even through tint.

Center console

Footwells and dash in general

edited for change in pricing - got new 27 LED units in and lowered prices on smaller fixtures.

I'd find some interest in them. Go pull half my dash apart and replace all the dead or dim ones. This is $6 per single LED bulb (5 led's in 1) if I understand correctly?

Can you replace the gauge cluster bulbs in my S10, and replace pretty much every bulb in and around the truck?

Price for the full gauge/console LED swap, footwell, map lights, rear cargo, and front dome light in blue LED? Would you be able to install? I'll probly be getting these and the HID stuff I mentioned in the other thread sometime in mid-December if you'd be available.

Do you have more than just the bulbs? I am looking to add some interior lights to my truck, but there is currently nothing there, no wires or sockets? Do you have the sockets for the bulbs to plug into?

I love the look of the DRL's being a light blue, and it's been 5 days, and they haven't burned out like the OEM replacements due. lol

You're correct, $6 per socket (would be a better way for me to say it) when each socket has 5 LEDs. When they have more than 5 LEDs, price is $12 per socket.

Likely - I'll have to see to be sure. I will be getting in several different colors of what I used for my dash. I can do all the single filament ones that are the metal socket type - not sure about the plastic base "T" ones, as the bases seem to be a different design mold than what my Jeep used. They don't fit down far enough in the socket it seems.

Gauge cluster is $12, Center console $12, footwells were $24, map lights, $12, front dome $12, rear cargo $12 (for the dome/cargo, modular lights must be epoxied or at least glued to lens, they are a bank of 24)

$84 to do a cherokee like I did mine.

Nope, I just have the bulbs. I think that they have sockets at say Murrays, but I will ask my supplier about it to see if there is a better solution price-wise

Awesome - and I found some that are the same size, but with 27 large SMD LEDs (vs the ones we put in the Yukon were 18)

Thats another thing to note - with the exception of the gauge cluster lights, these are the newest technology SMD lights, not the weak bulb looking kind.

Those T10s are what I used in the map lights and center console. I'll be getting ones with that base, but longer with more LEDs. That size can also be used in the side marker lights of an XJ and many other cars. It doesn't mess up the blink rate to just use that.

The metal socket ones work in the footwells as well as in the lights of older cars.

Those are what I put in the dome lights. Super bright. The forward dome light on a cherokee will have to be wired direct as my LEDs do not have the hooks on them that the stock festoon lights have. That will only make sense if you pop the cover off to see what I'm talking about.

On the blink rate issue - if anyone knows of a heavy duty or electronic flasher that will work with a 97+ XJ, pass it on please! I'd like to do all my amber lights, but they will go into fast-blink mode unless I do something with the flasher, and I don't want to add resistors.

Thanks for the feedback - I'll be getting a ton more in a week or two, but I still have some left in stock.

IIRC, there are flashers on the market that have an adjustable timer built in, so you can adjust your blink rate.

I need to check my taillights in my 1966 - I think they're 1157's but I'm not sure. Definitely need more light available when the brakes are on.

I don't have pictures but imagine the neon lights that people put on the underside of thier cars, except they are on the underside of a truck and are bright enough to light up rocks and other obsticles under the vehicle.

They would have to be bright, waterproof, and durable.

I would also be interested in some, and maybe some of the other lights you're selling.

No, I don't have anything quite like that. I would think the $20 lights at Meijer would be the best solution there. I have LED DRLs very much like these:

edited, not buying these anymore

my s10's interior light on the ceiling kind of looks like a fuse (cylindricle with metal on both sides) do you have lights to replace those?

Yeah, I can get those. I'll post pics and details/price later when I gather it all up.

Yes - I can either do one that plugs right in with 6 LEDs or those 24LED modular ones get power right from the festoon (fuse looking light) prongs, they need to be mounted on the lens, however. I'll show you if and when you come by.

SMD LED strips - brighter that those pictured in brewmann's link by many times:

15 LED / 30 cm: $5
30 LED / 60 cm: $8
45 LED / 90 cm: $12
60 LED / 120 cm: $16

Available in white, blue, red, yellow, and green. There is one that is RGB, switchable (?), but it is twice as much. I don't have any of these in stock, but let me know what sizes/colors you would be interested in, and I will buy some.

edit: I ordered some in white, blue and red, in the 30 and 60cm versions. Let me know real soon if there is any others you want me to add - I haven't sent payment yet, but will in the next day or so.

Sounds good. Good price. I'll have to go home and make some measurements and figure out what I want or can afford.

Last call to get in on this order - otherwise I'll just have available what little extra I ordered for inventory. I have all the PMs included already.

Also - if you are using LEDs for turn signal bulbs - you have to do something about the LED's being low resistance. They will cause the turn signal to rapid blink. On older vehicles, a heavy duty blinker element can be substituted, but on newer vehicles, you might have to be creative. Also, I will not install LEDs, too much fragile plastic in interior housings, and there is no profit in these for me to risk breaking stuff. I will advise if you show me your housings on what you can use. Thanks,
