Default question about angle grinders.

I got my first angle grinder yesterday. I realize this is a pretty amateur question... but the cutting wheel i got is .045" thick, and when i tighten the nut on the arbor, it doesn't have enough threads to clamp the wheel in, place. however my grinding wheel is 1/4" and works fine.

is there some kind of spacer i need in order to use my .045" cutting discs?

usually if you flip the nut one way it mounts flush against the cutting wheel and the other way it will mount flush to the hub on the grinder. Try flipping the nut around.

Usually you can just flip the outer nut around and it will tighten up that way.

Try flipping the spacer behind the disk.

I believe you can order a whole new guard and nut for use with cutting wheel or you can just flip the stupid nut over.
