Mixed up rod caps and pistons...

Well guys I've managed to mix up my rod caps and pistons while attempting to rebuild my 351 Windsor. Am I screwed now or is there anything I can do? From what I've heard your pretty much screwed, and I have no idea what to do now. Could I just buy new rods and rod caps and just replace them??

well lessoned learned marking with a paint marker or labeling a box can go a long way if your not so lazy to do so.

Just buy a crate motor already together and go from there, or just take it to a professional next time.

lol yup, this was my first rebuild so honestly I didn't really know what I was doing. I hired a kid that claimed he knew how to rebuild a motor to show me how, then soon found out he had no idea what he was doing, and it was too late. I'm thinking about just buying another motor that has a knock real cheap and rebuilding that with all the new parts I have from this motor. I'll definitely mark everything this time.

why did you listen to a kid on how to rebuild an engine? Hell If I was clueless on something like that I probably would send it to someone who actually knows, not just a 17 y/o based on his word who you "paid" and he jumped ship and left you with shit.

Just turn the manifold upside down on one side run a pipe from the other manifold right into the cab and hammer down the highway be wicked load.

I didn't pay him in the end since he screwed up. He rebuilt a 302 and it ran fine, well for a half hour until the whole truck burned down lol. I bought my truck for $900 and I wasn't gonna pay a professional $1,000 to rebuild the motor. But yes I admit that trusting this kid was really stupid, especially since his truck caught fire. Really don't know what I was thinking at the time.

No, it was actually his fault. I have several videos on YouTube explaining it all since I made videos and took pictures of the rebuild. And I don't understand what the fukc is wrong with running open manifolds to test a motor? Most of you guys are all just fuckin assholes and give this site a bad name.
